What is AI image generation?

AI image generation uses a model to create images from text prompts, reference images or both. You describe what you want, and the model turns that instruction into a visual result.

Step 1: Write a clear prompt

A basic prompt like “a cat” gives the model very little direction. A better prompt includes subject, scene, lighting and style:

Step 2: Choose aspect ratio and size

Different channels need different formats:

• 1:1 for square posts and profile images
• 16:9 for banners and desktop visuals
• 9:16 for mobile stories and short-video covers
• 3:4 for portraits and outfit displays

Use higher resolution when the image will be printed, cropped or used in a hero banner.

Step 3: Choose a model

Use a fast general model for drafts and ideation. Use a higher-quality model when you need final assets, sharper text or more controlled composition.

Step 4: Iterate

If the first image is not right, refine the prompt instead of starting over. Add details about lighting, camera angle, background, mood and output use.
